Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility & Submission Timeline

Q: What is the eligible time period for entries?

A: Eligible work must have been created between July 1, 2024 and December 15, 2025.

Q: Can I submit spec work?

A: No. Spec work (projects created without client approval or not publicly released) is not eligible, unless specifically allowed in a designated category.

Q: I’ve entered the Hashies before but didn’t win. Can I try again?

A: Absolutely. Returning entrants are welcome and encouraged to submit again.

Q: Can small businesses or individuals enter too?

A: Yes! The Hashies are open to everyone — agencies, brands, consultants, and individuals of all sizes. Entries are judged on the quality and impact of the work, not the size of your business or following.

Q: Can non-profits enter?

A: Yes! Non-profit organizations are encouraged to submit. Impactful work from all sectors is celebrated, and some categories are designed specifically for non-profits.

Q: Can I enter work I created for a client?

A: Yes. You may submit client work as long as you have permission to share it and credit all collaborators properly.

Membership & Fees

Q: Do I need to be a member, and what do I get if I join?

A: Anyone may submit entries, whether or not you’re part of Social Media Club. Membership isn’t required — but if you do join, your first Hashies entry is included, you’ll receive discounted rates on additional entries, and gain access to a national peer network, professional development resources, chapter events, and partner discounts.

Q: Is there a discount for multiple entries?

A: Each entry is submitted and charged separately. For bulk submissions, contact us about possible discounts.

Submission Process & Format

Q: Where do I submit my entry?

A: All entries are submitted through the Hashies website. Once submissions open, you’ll find clear instructions, deadlines, and category details at hashieawards.com/enter.

Q: Can I enter the same work in multiple categories?

A: Yes — but you’ll need to complete a separate submission for each category so the work can be judged fairly.

Q: Can I submit more than one entry?

A: Absolutely! You may enter as many times as you’d like — across different categories or even within the same category.

Q: What file formats do you accept?

A: We accept standard formats for documents, images, and videos (PDF, JPG/PNG, MP4, etc.). If you’re unsure about a specific format, contact us.

Chapters & Promotion

Q: Do I need to belong to a local Social Media Club chapter to participate?

A: Anyone may submit entries, whether or not you’re part of a local chapter. Membership isn’t required — but if you do join, your first Hashies entry is included.

Q: How can I help promote my nomination or win?

A: Sharing your entry on platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or X is a great way to celebrate your work and expand its reach — but it’s completely optional.

Events & Sponsorship

Q: Where and when is the Hashie Awards ceremony?

A: The 2025 Hashie Awards ceremony will be hosted in Los Angeles in Spring 2026. Final dates and venue will be announced on the website and social media channels.

Q: How can I sponsor a regional event?

A: Not every region will host an in-person celebration, but we’d love to connect you to those that do! Partnership opportunities are available at both the regional and global level. Reach out to our team to learn more about supporting the Hashies!

Agency Size & Definitions

Q: How do you define a small vs. large agency?

A: There’s no strict cutoff, but here are the general guidelines we use:

  • Small Agency: Fewer than 25 employees, fewer than 20 active clients, and annual revenue under $5 million.

  • Large Agency: 25+ employees, 20+ active clients, and annual revenue over $5 million.
